Albany's Convention Center

Governor Pataki's budget will include $75 million in state aid for proposed $200 million downtown Albany convention center. The Convention center is on the Rentacomputer.com target list of new convention centers that will be serviced by Tech Travel Agents.

New York State Assemblymen John McEneny, and other members of a convention center board, will now go about spending the next 14 months assessing sites within one mile of the Capitol for a recommendation on where to build the convention center and accompanying hotel. Sites at the top and bottom of State Street have been proposed.
